AC Milanda 4 Garnethill Rovers 2 (HT 2-2)

A depleted Milanda side overcame a spirited performance from the youngsters of Garnethill. Milanda quickly found themselves 2 up. the first coming from the boot of Evans who recived a pass from O'Neill and took it round the defender. He looked as if the ball was slipping away from him but he managed to get a toe to it and the keeper could only watch as it nestled into the net.

No 2. was fair;y straightforward. A free kick from reid on the left was delivered into the 6 yard box and Johnstone's was unchallenged as his glancing header made it two.

Milanda then decided that they would take the foot off the gas and allowed Garnethill into the game. A break from a Milanda corner ended with an easy finish at the back post then just before HT the game was level when a deflected shot from the edge of the box wrong footed Fawns.

The 2nd half was a more even affair with chances at both ends but the deadlock was finally broken by the back of Coyle when, with his back to goal, mamanges to deflect a cross into the net. Goal scorer extrordinaire McGowan got his 3rd in 2 games with a close range header to seal the points and finally kill off Garnethill's challenge.

Another good 3 points on the board for Milanda with an under strength team.

MOTM: For having had to carry his midfield partner for most of the match before moving back into defence and generally having a solid performance then it has to be Dave O'Neill.
