MILANDA missed out on an excellent chance to make the last four of the GDSML Cup with a woeful performance.
Second Division Bellahouston, a team who had taken four points out of six against Milanda while in the top flight last season, again proved too difficult to overcome.
On a heavy pitch that made flowing football difficult, both teams struggled to make any kind of impression.
There wasn't a decent chance created at either end in the first half and things improved only marginally after the break.
Milanda came close with a couple of headers from Martin Johnstone and Thomas Addison, who had replaced the injured Andy Scott, while Bellahouston hit the underside of the bar from a free-kick and missed another couple of good openings.
With extra time looming, Milanda threw on a third striker in the shape of John Gibson to try to grab a goal but Bellahouston were looking stronger and managed to score the winner with a close-range header two minutes from the end.
The Milanda defenders had been pretty solid up until that point and outshone the players further forward but in general it was a day to forget for the team.
