AC Milanda 5 Crosslands 1 (HT (2-0)

Team - Fawns, Addison, Crawford, O'Neill, P Johnstone (Scott), M Walker, Early, Williamson, Murray, M Johnstone(Coyle) Evans(Reid). Subs not used: Grant
Scorers - Crawford, Evans, Early, SCOTT, Own goal

Turned out a fairly easy victory in the end but it took Milanda a while to get going but once in front never looked like being hauled back.

First goal came from a Murray throw that Crawford got a touch to and the keeper who had attempted to come out and collect had to watch it sail over his head into the net. No 2 was a disaster for the Crossland's centre half as he got caught in possession halfway in his own half and M Johnstone nicked in and stole it off him. he raced into the box and drew the keeper before passing the ball into Evans path who had the easy option of knocking it into the empty net.

Crosslands rarely threatened at the other end although Fawns did have one excellent stop to keep the score at. 2-0 and that was how it stood at HT.

It was soon 3 after half time when Early met an Addison free kick and headed it past the keeper at his near post.

Milanda then went on a competition to see how many times they could hit the post. Johnstone hit the post in the first half but Walker, Early and then Reid all hit the woodwork in the second before the game was made safe.

Coyle sent Scott clear on the left and his cross was knocked into the net by Reid.

There was just time to see the own goal of the season so far. About 35 yards out on the touchline the Crosslands defender decided to knock it back to his keeper and as a high and bouncing sped towards him he didn't know what to do and then watched as the ball took one final bounce right over his head and into the net. Classic stuff and contender for own goal of the decade.

Crosslands did get some cheer with almost the last kick of the ball when a corner was cleared to the edge of the box and the first time volley caught Fawns unsighted and found the corner of the net.

MOTM - A solid team effort that and the whole team should take a bow.

OK ANDY YOU CAN STOP YOUR CRYING

Goal number 4 came from the unlikely boot of Andy Scott for his first of the season. Coyle found space on the right and his cross was left by Reid which left Scott one on one with the keeper. He neatly stepped round him and trundled it into the empty net. There's no truth in the rumour that Peter Johnstone was willing Mark Reid to get the last touch.
