A tougher morningn than Milanda expected as they faced bottom team Hamilton Wanderers. Despite it being a glorious sunny day a couple of Wanderers players played with gloves on. Rather bizarre. Wanderers started off much the better of the two teams and had a few chances to take the lead before being awarded a penalty after Dullaghan was late with a challenge in the box. Fawns was given no chance from the spot and Milanda were one down. Wanderers continud to press Milanda and had two great chances to increase their lead but failed to hit the target. Finally Milanda stepped up a gear and pushed Wanderers back. Early was unlucky with a header that hit the bar from a Duncan cross. Coyle and Murray were beginning to combine to effect down the left and it was from the left boot of Murray Milanda equalised. A neat ball inside the full back left Murray in on goal at the left hand side of the box. The keeper came out to block but Murray mananged to find a gap at his near post to level the game. A few moments later Williamson had his left foot shot saved by the keeper before he put Milanda ahead. Murray again was slipped inside the full back and again beat the keeper at his near post but this time the ball cannoned off the post. Williamson who had been following up stuck a foot out to try and steer the ball into an empty net but only succeeded in spinning the ball into the air. When the ball finally came down it had made it over the line and had put Milanda ahead. Definite contender for goal of the season. The final action of the half was a header from Coyle that came back off the post. Milanda should have made the game safe in the second half but poor finshing and solid goalkeeping kept them at bay. Johnstone gave Williamson an early chance but his shot from outside the box went past the post. Then Coyle was again foiled by the post after the keeper touched his shot onto the post then watched as the ball rolled back into this arms. Coyle then turned provider and set up Johnstone inside the box but again the keeper saved. Wanderers had threatened little at the other end but a long ball caught out the defence and Fawns in the Milanda goal and Milanda were suddenly level again. it was looking like one of those mornings for Mialnda as chance after chance was passed up. That was until the last 10 mins when Milanda finally found their scoring touch. Evans who had come on for the injured Preston got the ball on the edge of the box and found Johnstone with a pass that sent him clear on goal and he clamly drew the keeper before picking his spot. Evans then had a shot that the keeper touched away for a corner. Murray's delivery from the corner was perfect as Williamson rose to head home from 8 yards out. The scoring was complete when Johnstone rifled home from the edge of the box a few moments later to secure the 3pts. Another stuttering performance from Milanda but they got there in the end. Wanderers certainly didn't play like a team bottom of the league with no points in the first 35 mins. Will need to improve for next week''s game against the team at the opposite end of the table. Man of the match – He unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and had at least two off the woodwork and seems to have benefited from the return of Murray to the team. This weeks MOTM is Coyle who despite only having 'one trick' is a handful for any defender.
